#SOUND FORGE PRO 11 REDDIT PRO#
Unfortunately, at this time there is no clear answer to what the future of Sound Forge Pro Mac will be. Back to the starting block to find a great stereo editing and mastering setup.

Now it's over unless I install a partition or buy a WIN machine.
#SOUND FORGE PRO 11 REDDIT HOW TO#
I started on Windows, became an expert SF user, talked my massive company into adopting it, taught everyone how to use it, I then personally switched to Mac when it became available (and my company started supporting Mac), and I've purchased at least 50 copies over the years for myself, my teams, my family, etc. It's a nightmare and is ending a 17 (ish) year relationship for me. Steinberg users have been begging for fixes and changes in Cubase for years as well as a great example. Thing is, all DAWs go through this and the grass isn't much greener elsewhere either. At least they are listening now but it's no so easy as just clicking a button and making it happen. There are features and bugs we've asked for years for fixes for. That said, there are many things that need to be worked on as well.

We just got expression mapping a couple months ago but remember up through Platinum, they added a mass amount of new features constantly. More features have been added to Cakewalk in the past few years than ever. I agree to a point and believe that is some of what is being worked on right now. To be fair though, I haven't checked out the latest versions. Imho it desperately needs code (and to some extent feature) renewal, but that would take an unbelievable amount of effort. Now, looking back, I think that Sonar, although very powerful and capable, is being dragged down by the old code and features (and bugs - some are about 15 years old, I believe). I've been with Cakewalk since Pro Audio 8 and up to the latest Sonar Platinum (until Bandlab). Once they left the X series and went on to Platinum, they were on a roll but there were still many constraints that no longer exist under Bandlab. Really helps when money is no object to the company running the show. We get monthly updates, they are adding a lot of new features and they are doing it all with no budget. They have been developing the program like mad. Honestly, I feel their golden age has just started. I always wondered, how were the Roland times (especially compared to Gibson)? Was it the Sonar Golden Age? I still miss V-Vocal too. I would be interested to know if they have actually changed something real for a change, so please suprise me with the news that you can edit both sides L+R independently nowĪlso btw if there's one program that's even more annoying than cubase for navigation and selection, it's soundforge. or one that doesn't have the same bugs generation to generation.
#SOUND FORGE PRO 11 REDDIT UPDATE#
ive never seen a cubase update yet that has actually fixed a real issue like this. Somehow i doubt that this basic function is included in with cubase7.

In cubase 4 you can only edit a stereo sample as a whole, applying the same process to both sides. In sound forge you can select one side of the sample and apply a process to it, leaving the other side untouched.
